Just when I thought there was no way to make cheesy, buttery macaroni and cheese from a box better, my Instant Pot made life simpler. Kraft Macaroni N Cheese is a childhood staple meal and this method for cooking it makes it faster and easier than ever. Then add ¼ cup of milk and four tablespoons of butter per box and all the cheese packets and you are in business. That is something everyone can get excited about!Īnother great benefit to this method? You can cook several boxes of Kraft Macaroni N Cheese all at once! A great option when you are feeding a crowd! If you’re cooking more than one box, you’ll just need to add enough water to cover the macaroni. Bonus, this take on classic Kraft Mac N Cheese virtually eliminates cleanup. Start to finish, this recipe takes only ten minutes and uses just your Instant Pot. No need to pull out your pots and pans and strainer. I promised simplicity! No need for boiling and straining noodles. Add milk, butter and the contents of the cheese packet, stir and you are done. Cook for 2 minutes on High pressure, let the pressure naturally release for 5 minutes, than quick release the remaining pressure. To make Kraft Macaroni N Cheese in your Instant Pot, you put macaroni and water in the Instant Pot, close it, and turn it on. That was for sure, a sign that it was good, even after sitting out. It remained creamy and did not get grainy. I have to admit that this was one of the best darn macaroni and cheeses I have ever eaten. If you like this as well, preheat your oven to 425 degrees, spray a cast iron skillet or casserole dish with non stick spray, add the macaroni, top with the french fried onions, the rest of the cheese and bake for ten minutes. Now you can eat your macaroni as it, but I like to have a crispy crust on it.Now your mixture will look a little watery, do not worry, it needs to sit for ten minutes and the pasta will absorb the extra liquid. When the cheese is all melted, turn off the instant pot.Stir constantly so the cheese doesn’t burn on the bottom. Set the instant pot to the saute setting, low, and add the evaporated milk, the Velveeta, the 3 cups of the cheddar cheese and simmer until the cheese is melted. ![]()
